On September 11th, 2001, Port Authority Police Officer, William Jimeno, left his home unsuspecting of what the day was about to hold. Just a few hours later he lay crushed beneath the Twin Towers' 220 stories of concrete, steel, and glass. Most of his team had already died. He and his sergeant were helplessly trapped. La rehabilitación respiratoria debe apoyarse, hoy día, en equipos multidisciplinarios bien cohesionados, integrados por buenos conocedores de la patología neumológica y torácica, capaces de poner en marcha programas específicos, que deben seguirse en el tiempo y cuyo cumplimiento es esencial para alcanzar los objetivos deseados. Este tratado pretende poner al día el conocimiento, los métodos y las formas de aplicación de una modalidad terapéutica imprescindible si se pretende conseguir la atención integral del enfermo respiratorio. El ámbito de la rehabilitación respiratoria es muy amplio y variado, como lo son sus posibilidades clínicas, su trasfondo fisiopatológico y sus múltiples vertientes aplicativas. Pese a ello, el libro cuenta, con una visión unificadora y rigurosa, de todos estos aspectos, por los que el lector interesado encontrará todo lo que necesite conocer en este campo.
